The Minneapolis University Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, a global service organization made up of 35,000 clubs around the world.  Rotarians are committed to high ethical standards, service to others, and building goodwill around the world.  Rotary is non-partisan, non-denominational, and open to all.

Minneapolis University Rotary was founded in February of 1991 by a group of active citizens, many of whom were associated with the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.  While we are not formally affiliated with the University of Minnesota, we enjoy the university environment and the love of learning and discovery it represents.

Over the years we have been involved in a broad range of service initiatives in the Twin Cities and internationally. We have sponsored educational programs in the local community; scholars around the world; and projects in India, Rwanda, Chile, Mexico, and the Palestinian Territories.  These activities connect us to the world and each other.  They reflect Rotary International’s focus in these seven areas:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution.
  • Disease prevention and treatment.
  • Water and sanitation.
  • Maternal and child health.
  • Basic education and literacy.
  • Economic and community development.
  • Protecting the environment.
We welcome your visit to the Minneapolis University Rotary Club! We are open to all.
